Previously Coronation Street and Hollyoaks Star Katie McGlynn has announced that her next project will see her debut on stage.
McGlynn shared the news on her Instagram account, revealing that she is joining Peter James’ production Wish you were dead along with Clive Mantle, George Rainsford (Damage) and Leon Stewart.
“Absolutely delighted to share that I’m joining the main cast of @peterjamesuk’s Wish You Were Dead national tour, making my professional stage debut as Cleo,” she wrote.
“I will be sharing the role with the wonderful @mrsgifletcher and joining @grainsford @clive.mantle.752 and Leon Stewart from 2nd May to 29th July 2023 – I can’t wait to visit some of the UK’s most popular iconic theaters and am so thrilled to be performing alongside such a talented cast.”

The actress will share the role of Cleo with I’m a celebrity winner Giovanna Fletcher, who will take up the role from 2 May to 29 July 2023.
McGlynn is best known for her role as Sinead Tinker on The Cobbles, playing the role from 2013 to 2019. Her character was married to Daniel Osbourne, and shared a son, Bertie, before she died in a heartbreaking story of cancer.
She also had a short period Hollyoaks, plays conspiracy theorist Becky Quentin, who left the village after being caught in her attempts to manipulate her boyfriend Ollie Morgan.

Outside of acting, McGlynn appeared in the 2021 series of Strictly Come Dancing where she was paired with Gorka Marquez.
The pair made it to the second week before being eliminated from the show, as in the past EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis would go on to win.
Coronation Street sent on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX. Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes released every weekday morning. The show airs Monday to Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
