Hollyoaks star Anna Passey backs partner Kyle Pryor over Emmerdale role

Anna Passey has shared her support for partner and former Hollyoaks co-star Kyle Pryor after he landed a role in Emmerdale.

Kyle famously played Laurie Shelby on the Channel 4 soap, but last month was confirmed to join Dales in the role of Darren.

Anna took to her Instagram page and shared a photo of her watching her other half’s debut Emmerdalewhich is now available on ITVX but has yet to debut on TV.

“I love tuning in to @emmerdale to watch the amazing @kylepryor do his thing,” she captioned the photo.

Darren is set to enter the fray after a number of residents become involved in a poker game at The Woolpack, with the charming character taking an interest in the game that Vinny and others are playing.

Kyle also famously appeared in Home and away as Nate Cooper between 2013 and 2017, before landing his role in Hollyoaks.

He returned to the Channel 4 soap in 2020 to act as a body double for kissing scenes involving Anna in the middle of the pandemic.

He called the concert “unusual”, he said BBC Radio 5 Live at the time that it was “very nice to go back in and see some of the cast and crew on set”.

Kyle added: “To be honest it’s fine for me to go in and kiss my partner, it’s an easy day’s work.”

Emmerdale sent on weeknights at 19.30 on ITV1, and streams on ITVX. Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes released every weekday morning. The show airs Monday to Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
