“I definitely think they fit as a couple,” Blackwood shared Inside soap. “They’re both broken souls – Felix has had a colorful past, but he’s trying to make amends and turn his life around. They have met their match in each other, but I also think they can heal each other.”

Speaking to the same outlet, Metcalfe echoed her co-star’s thoughts before giving fans a hint of what’s to come for the couple: ‘Mercedes has seen another side of Felix. He takes responsibility and he’s been there for her come rain or shine – that’s what she needs right now,” she said.

“It will get better for them before it gets worse. Their relationship is a slow burn, but it’s very fitting that they stay together at this time of year. It’s all very soapy and cheesy, but it’s also wonderful and lovely,” she added.
