The clearly structured fair with over 600 exhibitors spread over 9 halls provides an overview of the new collections in the areas of women’s clothing, men’s clothing, children’s clothing, denim, shoes, leather and fur. Separate platforms at IFCO are LinExpo for underwear and knitwear and FashionIST with a wide selection of wedding dresses, evening wear and suits. IFCO Sourcing, a new area at IFCO, offers the ability to find a range of companies for purchasing capacity.
Also new is the collaboration with Igedo Exhibitions, Düsseldorf, which is responsible for the EUROPEAN SELECTION area at IFCO. International fashion brands present themselves at the fair as part of this participation.
Türkiye has long been a global player in the fashion industry. IFCO presents itself as the essential platform to meet new buyers and business partners. More than 25,000 visitors from over 100 nations from all sales channels, from warehouses and shops to online platforms from Eastern Europe, the Central Asian markets and the Arab Gulf region, together with buyers from Türkiye, are expected at the fair.
The stated goal of the organizers is to offer a “one-stop shopping solution” with IFCO that showcases the creativity of the Turkish fashion scene, enables access to new sales markets, and at the same time establishes the connection with potential manufacturing partners for the supply chain. optimization. The competitive advantages of production in Türkiye are clear: short delivery times, high production quality, young and well-trained employees, the possibility of small minimum order quantities, a vertical textile and clothing industry that allows “one-stop shopping”.
The manufacturing sector is an important sector of the industry, with over 80% of companies in Türkiye engaged in this sector. Türkiye has the fastest economic growth among the G20 after Saudi Arabia at 7.6% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2022, according to the Turkish Statistics Authority. Exports are one of the most important pillars of growth.
The fair concept is supported by the government with several programmes. These include the collaboration with IMA, Istanbul ModaAkademisi, which regularly produces design talents who become an integral part of the international fashion scene. IMA was founded in 2007 by ITKIB / IHKIB with the help of the IPA I program ((IPA: Instrument for Pre Accession Funds, provided by the EU for the EU candidate countries). Young design talents are brought to the stage at IFCO in collaboration with ”Koza Young Fashion Designer’s Contest”.
The subject of sustainability is particularly emphasized at IFCO. Ekoteks Laboratorium, the association’s sustainability institute, is the patron for these company presentations at IFCO.
The gala evening on the first day of the fair once again welcomes all exhibitors and visitors and offers an attractive framework programme. The seminar program with international lecturers such as the Accademia de la Moda from Milan rounds off the fair offer.
With Texhibition, the trade fair for textiles, ornaments and yarns, taking place from 8 to 10 March 2023 at the Istanbul Exhibition Centre, ITKIB / IHKIB offers the complete range for the international textile industry and trade.
