Strictly Come Dancing Star Katya Jones has opened up about her romantic life since splitting from ex-husband and co-star Neil Jones.
In a new interview with Daily MailKatya talked about ex-husband Neil, who she was married to from 2013 until they separated in 2019. Neil has since moved on with other women and is currently dating Love the island star Chyna Mills.
However, Katya has said that she hasn’t had a single date since her split from Neil. She attributes that — in part, at least — to her own “high standards.”

“It could be that men see me on TV and are scared, they think I’m unapproachable for some reason which obviously isn’t true. We’re all just people looking for love – but if they’re not brave enough, then they don’t, so I keep waiting,” Katya said.
“Admittedly, I don’t have much time for dating while I’m competing, but I don’t want someone unless they’re going to add value to my life. I don’t want someone to just fill the holes that I might have in my life, and I’d rather not filling any of the holes in theirs.”
She continued: “Independence in a relationship is very important to me. Maybe it’s not helpful, but it’s quite simple; we’re all just looking for love.”

Katya and Neil are both professional dancers for Strictly Come Dancing and despite their split, they still maintain a good friendship and professional working relationship. This year, Katya quit in the seventh week of the show after her partner Tony Adams was forced to withdraw with an injury.
Neil didn’t date a celebrity this year, but last year he dated actress Nina Wadia. They were the first couple to be eliminated.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One, while the spin-off shows Strictly: It takes two broadcast weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are also streaming on BBC iPlayer.
