S1mple picks NiP one by one at IEM Cologne 2022
Many consider Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev to be the best CS:GO player ever, and he certainly makes a fantastic case for himself with this clutch ace against Ninjas in Pajamas (NiP) at IEM Cologne 2022- the tournament. With only one of his teammates still alive, he quickly scores two AWP games against Plopski and es3tag with precise flick shots to level the playing field. Comrade Perfecto falls to Hampus’ AK-47 shortly after, but easily answers back with a spinning snap that takes down REZ. All alone and sandwiched between the remaining NiP players, s1mple quickly manages to set up another snipe on Brollan, leaving him in a 1v1 with hampus. Rotating away from the approaching threat, s1mple takes aim and scores his fifth kill to win the round. Between the impeccable flick accuracy, quick target acquisition and careful crosshairs, this was easily one of s1mple’s best plays ever.
Ardiis defies the odds and manages 1v3
Like CS:GO, Valorant is another game where quick gauge acquisition and proper crosshair placement can give players a chance to go for a bang. During the Valorant Champions Istanbul 2022 competition, Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks went on such a killing spree, mowing down three DRX players in just three seconds before they knew what hit them. After successfully flanking the opponents and planting the spike, ardiis peeked up and around a nearby corner, holding the crosshairs at head level. Thanks to this location, he was able to quickly headshot BuZz. He then ducked back into cover, staying safe from stax’s return fire while snapping to the target and mowing down MaKo. Finally, ardiis once again placed the crosshairs at head level and turned the corner, quickly setting up a round-winning last shot on stax.
Pelican hits four to win game for Houston Outlaws
One of Overwatch 2’s deadliest damage heroes is Hanzo, a midrange sniper character who can pick off opponents with rapid-fire arrow projectiles. In this clip during an Overwatch League 2022 match between the Houston Outlaws and the Toronto Defiant, Outlaws player Oh “Pelican” Se-hyun tapped into his character’s potential, using his excellent tracking and shooting to carry his team to victory. With the overtime timer ticking down and two of his teammates falling, Pelican was able to come out of nowhere and take down both Chorong and Hotba, leaving the Defiant without a tank and with only one support on the objective. He then landed an incredible flick shot on Selva as he attempted to ambush the Pelican, then took care of Heesu’s incoming Tracer with a dirty prediction shot. To cap things off, Pelican unleashed his Dragonstrike zoning Ultimate, preventing reviving Defiant members from contesting the objective and giving his team the win.
YukaF goes “absolutely freaking ballistic” with the peacekeeper

Zeka scores a Quadra Kill leading to victory
Precision in competitive games is generally associated with shooting and aiming abilities, but it is also very important in MOBAs. In this wild clip from the League of Legends World Championship 2022 Quarterfinals, Kim “Zeka” Geon-woo precisely micro-manages his movements and abilities as he quickly switches targets between EDward Gaming’s players, methodically taking out four of them after his DRX teammate Pyosik managed to steal EDG’s Ocean Drake. Robbed of their advantage and with no one to defend the Nexus, EDG are then overrun by the loaded DRX roster.
Precision is important – here’s how to improve yours
As all five clips above show, being precise and accurate is critical to success in competition, regardless of the type of game you play. Whether you’re trying to grab a round of CS:GO, aggressively pump players full of damage in Apex Legends, or outplay opponents with perfect movement in a MOBA like League of Legends, you need to aim effectively and efficiently.
If you’re looking for some ways to improve your aim, aim training programs like Aim Lab, Aiming.Pro. and ouch! all offer a variety of modes, levels and courses that you can practice with to improve. You probably won’t see improvements right away, but with enough practice, you’ll definitely get better while using these tools.
Consider getting some high-quality gaming peripherals too, such as keyboards, mice, headsets and more sold in ROG and TUF Gaming selection, suitable for both PC and console gaming. These peripherals come with features that competitive gamers will find highly desirable such as low latency, anti-ghosting, high DPI maximums and more. It’s true that you won’t instantly improve just by using elite gear, but something like a ROG Chakram X, ROG Keris or ROG Gladius III mouse want gives you plenty of opportunities to fine-tune your aim and gives you an excellent foundation from which to develop your skills.
